Having only graduated from Central Saint Martin’s in 2010 (albeit with an enormously successful graduate collection and the Harrods Award), Jackie JS Lee has a lot to be proud of. Launching the JS LEE label with her graduate collection, she has already built up an easily identifiable androgynous, tailored signature style. This season the label presented a NEWGEN sponsored salon show which, true to form, revealed a collection which was elegant, simple and feminine.

Inspired by a trip to Berlin, the collection’s colour palette is muted and neutral with slate greys, blacks and nudes reflecting the tones of the city’s buildings – there are even block panels of citrus green which the designer says represent the ivy growing on the iconic decaying Berlin wall. JS LEE’s signature embossed collar is once again present, although this time neater and more refined, referencing the influence Berlin’s contemporary graphic art had on the collection. With wearable evening pieces, dresses and separates, JS LEE’s SS13 collection will undoubtedly ensure the further growth of this wonderful, lively young label.
