Shaun Samson

byLars Byrresen Petersen

As we enter the surprisingly big and well decorated studio in Bethnal Green, we’re welcomed by two smiley faces; one of which is one of our favorite CSM graduates, Shaun Samson. The successful designer graduated only a year ago and has already gained a fashionista following and his graduate collection was immediately picked up by the notorious Paris-based press agency, Totem.  The day before our meeting with Shaun, he was awarded NEWGEN by the BFC. Needless to say, we expect a lot from this young Cali-born designer.

Despite his quick success, the designer is as down to earth as can be and he warmly welcomed us to take a glimpse of his busy life, juggling production in LA and a studio in London. He had only good things to say about his seven years at CSM – yes, seven years: Samson did his foundation, BA and MA at our school. It was interesting for us to hear, how he described the difference between the BA Fashion and the MA Fashion courses and to hear his opinion on a certain course leader, wink wink. We absolutely loved our time with Shaun, and can’t wait for you all to read our upcoming interview with him.
