I won’t lie, I was always a pessimist when it came to hackathons. For those of you who don’t know, hackathons are usually a weekend event hosted by a major tech company that invites people to come pitch ideas, form teams, develop ideas, and then present them to a panel of industry professionals, all in one weekend!!! The reason for my pessimism was I would always wonder how the hell you could develop anything in basically two days!??!??!? Olya was going to the Fashion Start Up Weekend at the Google headquarters in London, and roughly 30 minutes before the event started Olga convinced me to come with her for moral support… and possibly some saint Laurent jeans :)!
So we went, pitched, and both our ideas got chosen to develop!!! Its funny because i came along to work on her team, but after the pitches, she became my competition! sorry ol!
So there we were, too fashion bitches in a room full of coders, designers, and business men who had to listen to us! my idea was initially called “I’m in the Closet” but we changed it to Swappi, basically, a clothing swapping party meets tinder for your wardrobe, where people can swap their clothes for other clothes they like around them.
