When did you graduate. How did you feel about finishing CSM and how was your first year after graduating?

 I felt happy and relieved, having accomplished the biggest project in my life so far. Leaving CSM was sad as I had a blast there. I was lucky and got a job right after graduation, and started designing Costume Jewelry at Dior. It was great even though it was very far from what I had studied and from my own style. However I learned a lot. That was a short contract of 7 months, and after that I moved to Maison Martin Margiela, that’s where I work now. (more…)

What is the best lesson you’ve learned in CSM?How to express your thoughts through research, develop the initial idea and turn them into a final outcome (garments).What advice can you give to current students?

1st year: Enjoy your opportunity and make whatever you wish to make. Try on different things, different techniques, materials, go crazy. You’ll see what you truly love and are good at.

2nd year: Start thinking what you’d like to do in the future, after school, and do research thoroughly for placement and future job opportunities. You wouldn’t have any time for this in your final year. Your choice of placement year (where to go, which city, what kind of jobs etc.) could effect the job opportunities after graduation. (more…)
