Representing the creative future

Today’s greatest photographers are selling original prints for just £100

The most prominent UK photographers are supporting food banks with their work through the Photographs for the Trussell Trust initiative

Art, fashion, and photography are not disciplines that are usually associated with the notion of practical help in times of crisis. At first glance, it is hard to imagine how the creative community could come together and offer immediate hands-on aid, until we remember the power of art as a valuable commodity.

Organised by CSM alumni and stylist Bianca Raggi, photographer Alexandra Leese, and graphic designer Simon Rogers, The Photographs for the Trussell Trust initiative gathered prints by some of the most prominent UK based photographers and is using them to raise funds for food banks nationwide.

The Trussell Trust was founded in 1997 and supports two-thirds of the food banks in the UK within the reality of 14 million people living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. The pandemic has affected severely the most vulnerable: food banks have seen 300% increase in footfall compared to this time last year and desperately need our support in this time of social crisis.

Inspired by the Italian based initiative 100 Fotografi per Bergamo and the New York-based Pictures for Ermhurst, Photographs for the Trussell Trust is a photography print sale fundraiser that enables the UK creative community to support food banks. Photographic prints are for sale for £100 each, with 100% of profits going towards the Trussell Trust. All the prints have the same size, 8×11 inches, they are printed on C-Type Matt paper and they are available for the duration of the fundraising period, until May 6th.

The photographers that participate in this project represent all parts of the UK photographic network from renowned names such as Martin Parr, Juergen Teller, and Elaine Constantine to the most exciting photographers of today like Chris Rhodes, Alice Neale, and Joyce NG.

It is a rare and remarkable opportunity to get our hands on high-quality prints by the industry’s greatest photographers at such a price; the cause behind each photograph makes them even more precious than what they are.
