About the Awards
At a time when recognition is often concentrated on a single creative director, the awards aim to reflect the collaborative reality of how fashion is made, from design directors and heads of studio to assistants and graduate trainees.
Nominated by a council of leading senior in-house designers and consultants, these awards offer a rare form of peer recognition across a spectrum of disciplines, from tailoring and flou to knitwear, accessories, footwear and beyond.
By acknowledging the craft, creativity and teamwork that is central to fashion, the 1 Granary Design Awards seek to make the industry more transparent and connected, while giving overdue credit to the people whose work shapes the industry from behind the scenes.
For 2026, the 1 Granary Design Awards introduce the Design Council: bringing together design directors and heads of design from luxury’s leading houses. Together, they will determine this year’s shortlist before voting opens to our wider network of over 2,000 designers.
The result is recognition that’s fair, transparent, and decided by the people who understand the work best.
